AASET members have a voice in the direction of the association through committee participation. Getting involved in our association is the key to membership success.
If you are interested in serving on any of the listed committees, please contact the association office. If you have any ideas or suggestions to better help the listed committees, do not hesitate to inform staff. Thank you for your interest in serving.

Bylaws
The Bylaws Committee shall have the responsibility for ensuring that the bylaws of the association are kept current and shall provide an interpretation of the bylaws, as needed.
This committee usually meets once a year.
Communications
The “pep squad” of AASET, the Communications Committee encourages participation and attendance at general meetings and other various events throughout the year.
This committee usually meets 1-2 times a year. Other communication is handled through conference calling and emails.
Community Service
The Community Service Committee (HEARTS) shall be responsible for engaging members in community service projects that meet the needs and concerns of the larger community and the industry. This committee usually meets once a quarter. You do not have to be an AASET member to participate/volunteer on this committee.

The Legislative Committee shall have the responsibility of updating the board on local, state, and national legislative matters of concern to the industry and recommending participation, as deemed appropriate.
This committee usually meets when deemed necessary.
Membership
The Membership Committee shall have the responsibility for the recruitment and retention of members for the association. This committee usually meets twice a year.
In between meetings, the committee communicates through conference calling and emails.
Newsletter
The Newsletter Committee works with the AASET staff to oversee the production of the monthly newsletter and its topics. The committee determines the article content of each newsletter, solicits article submission from members, and encourages member advertising.

NextGen Committee

The Next Generation Committee is reserved exclusively for our 40 and under members by focusing on networking, career development, and community outreach. We work to develop and inspire the future leaders of the AASET through continued education, philanthropic endeavors, and relationship building.
Nominating
The Nominating Committee shall be responsible for identifying and recommending individuals qualified to become members of the Board of Directors and other positions.
This committee usually meets 1-2 times a year. Communication is also handled through conference calling and emails.
Political Action (PAC)
The PAC Committee shall have the responsibility of fundraising for the legislative efforts of the association.
This committee usually meets once a quarter, sometimes in connection with
the Legislative Committee.
Product Service
The Product Service Committee is responsible for the product services directory and for the annual Trade Show and/or other similar product service events.
This committee usually meets twice a year, sometimes in connection with the Program Committee.
Professional Development
The Professional Development Committee shall have the responsibility of focusing on the general and specific areas of career identification, training, education, and certification.
This committee usually meets every quarter, sometimes in connection with the Program Committee.
Program
The Program Committee shall handle the content and format of the general meetings. This committee also works with the AASET staff in the coordination of special events.
